Someone talk a self diagnosed hypochondriac down!

Hi all,

I just want to start off by saying I am a self confessed hypochondriac. I'm horrendous.

Anyway, last Friday all of my children came down with a temp and a horrible virus like symptoms to follow for a few days. My youngest then got croup and I suddenly came down yesterday feeling shivery and warm - my temp has only got up to 37.7. I had some back ache so panicked it may be a UTI - I got checked and no UTI.

Back ache has subsided now and now have pelvis and leg ache and my wrists hurt. I've been up and about as I can't sit still and feeling a little better but still cold and a little clammy but I know that may be my anxiety too. This is just the virus I've caught from my children, isn't it? I just never get poorly or temps so I panicked!

I had something similar a couple of weeks ago. Started with back and leg aches - the sort that woke me up every night - and then progressed to all over body aches, sensitive skin, a weird headache behind one eye, really sensitive hair follicles. Sometimes a bit shivery too though my temperature was always low. Like you, it was the sort of aching that made it impossible to sit still. I've never had anything like it before. It did go eventually (couple of weeks) so I am guessing it was some weird virus.

In your case, with your children being ill too, I would guess the most likely scenario would be you have a virus.

Yes, sounds like a virus. Normal to feel achy in odd places with a cold /flu type virus

TeenLifeMum · 24/11/2024 11:33

Yep, your body is fighting the virus.

Paracetamol, fluids, rest, crappy telly and it'll work itself out.
