Broken skin from itching

Just hoping for some guidance

I had sudden itching right underneath boob in the night, and I’ve woken to see that I’ve taken off some skin and there’s a big patch of red, sore, wet skin. I don’t know how I should treat it, or just leave it?

I was a bit shocked that an innocent itch could result in this. Could it also be thinning skin I’m in mid sixties

Nappy rash cream. Keep as dry as possible

I had something similar and it was a fungal infection. I tried sudocreme, washing with tea tree oil & keeping it clean and dry but had to get an anti fungal cream in the end. I also used a powder & it went quite quickly. It was sore and miserable.

Canestan anti fungal cream is your friend for getting rid of this..dw had same problem.

You need some clo-trimazole cream under boob and keep it as dry and preferably bra free as possible.

It's intertrigo and very common.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I’ve never had anything in that area before, what a mess it is. I can get some stuff today locally, chemist tomorrow.

I would also consider germolene as it has anaesthetic which helps break the itch scratch cycle.
