Chicken Pox

All three of my children have come out with chicken pox spots at the same time. Everything I can see online states there's quite a long incubation period and chicken pox is only contagious up to 2 days before the spots appear. So they can't have caught it from one another. I'm confused as to how they could have all caught it at the same time. Has this happened to anyone else? A bit worried the school will think I'm lying! I wasn't planning on making a GP app as I don't want to waste their time when there's nothing they can do, the children are well in themselves other than itchy spots, and it's very clearly chicken pox.would I be best making an app for the GP to confirm? Not sure they will write a letter for me to give to school though, and I wouldn't want to ask they're busy enough as is

There will surely be other kids in the same classes that come down with it now too. I wouldn't think the school would think you're making it up!

A waste of time asking a Dr to confirm, receptionist will probably say don't come in to the clinic!

Thank you. My youngest is in a different nursery to the other twos school so I can only assume they've all caught it when we've been out somewhere. My eldest and youngest have only just been off with a vomiting bug. It just feels like its one thing after another lately. I feel really overwhelmed and I probably am being a bit paranoid re the school thinking I'm lying.

I wouldn't worry about the school. Even if they didn't believe you to start with (and I don't see why they wouldn't!) you can send them in as soon as they've all scabbed over. So it's not like the school won't see the spots eventually. I've never heard of anyone using chicken pox as an excuse to fake a sickness because a: they'd be returning to school with no spots, and b: you can only catch it once, so what would you then use as an excuse when they inevitably catch it one day!

In terms of where they caught it, could they all have come into contact with the same person e.g a mutual friend or cousin?
