Medical attention! That looks nasty and like there is possibly a spreading infection, what started it, is it an ingrowing nail?

In the interim I would soak it it epsom salts as often as possible and apply zambuk when not.
But seriously, you don't have to have a f2f appointment but really need to send those pics to a gp.

This stuff is good although having seen that last picture it might have its work cut out 😬

Hc45 Hydrocortisone Acetate cream

It looks fungal to me, but I would recommend sending a pic to the GP if you haven't had anything like it before. Is it itchy?

tigger55 · 23/11/2024 15:30

See a chiropodist

tigger55 · 23/11/2024 15:41

@Growsomeballswoman why do you say that ?
I thought they were just nails , corns and callouses and stuff.

They can diagnose a multitude of issues with feet. And treat the fungal infection if needed

Definitely contact the GP, if canestan not helping, it could be bacterial (impetigo?) or both at the same time!

needhelpwiththisplease · 23/11/2024 16:01

Daktarin and make a gp appointment

LoafofSellotape · 23/11/2024 17:08

GP, seriously or at the very least the pharmacist.

Flannelectomy · 23/11/2024 17:35

I agree it looks fungal, seek medical attention as a significant fungal infection can be the result of something systemic.

unsync · 23/11/2024 17:45

That's fungal. Daktarin spray and then Margaret Dabbs Foot Hygiene Cream. Currently doing elderly parent's trotters which have the exact same issue. Fresh socks every day, dry between your toes after bathing (use a separate towel for your feet and wash it regularly) and spray your shoes with Daktarin too.

It looks like an infected ingrown toenail. I always used to think that ingrown toenails were at the top but it's the sides.
