Stick a needle in this lump??

I’ve had this annoying itchy lump on my middle finger for a few weeks- at first I thought it was an insect bite but it’s not gone down. It’s quite firm, not painful and sometimes it’s a bit red. I can move finger ok.

Anyone any idea what it is ? Tempted to stick a sterile needle in it… thoughts?

I get these, no idea what they are but I either squeeze them or stick a sterilised needle in. Water comes out, it scabs over then heals
