Ringworm?

Hi ladies

bit confused and worried.

my best friend is staying with me at the moment due to a few relationship issues she’s been having at home.

a small circular patch that is quite scaly showed up on the inside of her thigh. Not itchy or anything, she only noticed it in the shower one day but has been causing her no bother, no change in shape or size etc.

went to GP who looked and said that she think it’s from a bite which has gotten infected so gave an antibacterial cream. It seemed like it started to get better by which I mean it faded to a light pink colour but didn’t completely go once the treatment was finished.

she went back and saw the same GP so explained it’s a type of psoriasis and gave an E45 cream to use which she says hasn’t done much.

I am really concerned it might be ringworm or something contagious to my DD. Not to mention the fact that she shares a bed with me at the moment as I’d feel terrible launching her to the sofa! so sharing bedsheets etc.

she says that I’m over thinking and Dr has a duty of care to tell her if it’s something contagious, and also says that the doctor would know if it was something like a fungal infection.

I am a bit of an over thinker and do tend to take things to the extreme. Just wanted to get others views on this - AIBU by over thinking this?

Does it have a paler middle with darker pink ring round the edge?

GPs are IME a bit crap on skin rashes (can’t blame them really as there are so many).

I’d try to get her a blow up bed.

If it she just needs anti fungal it's really nothing to worry about.

@boulevardofbrokendreamss i think my concern is her passing it onto me and my DD.

@minipie it doesn’t have a ring. It’s just round shaped and the entire thing is a pinky colour and just looks extremely dry and scaly. No itching nothing and no ring.
