Drinking alcohol after pile banding

Has anyone had alcohol after having piles banded? I had the procedure done on Monday and have a pricey bottomless brunch which was pre-booked a while ago (before I knew this would be needed) on Saturday! I do overthink things massively but also don’t want to miss out (I don’t get out much .. kids!) or be the boring one who isn’t taking full advantage of the bottomless booze 😅 . So basically I just want to let my hair down after a rather crap (🫣) week so far!

Other than the first 24 hours following the banding, the advice is that you can eat and drink as normal, so go and enjoy your brunch! Just make sure to drink plenty of water for the rest of the day to keep your poo soft.

setting aside the question

will you feel recovered enough 5 days post op? comfortable sitting for a few hours?

Well she had it done on Monday so she should know by now.
From what I hear this is a very painful procedure and recuperation so I am impressed OP is planning to go on the lash so soon.
<resists urge to make joke about bum surgery and bottomless brunch>

Thanks for the replies! To be honest I’ve had very little pain, just been a little bit uncomfortable/more aware of my bum 😅. No where near as bad as when they would flare up.

It's more been the after effect of the sedation, which I presumed would leave me be after 24 hours, went to the docs thinking I had an infection!

I’ll see how I go, I don’t know why I get myself worked up, it’s the unknown as not really given recovery advice - that I recall anyway! Google also had me thinking I’d be in bed for weeks but that’s definitely not the case, think that’s more for proper surgery if they are really bad and can’t be banded.
