Chest infection and asthma getting better

Hi all. Apologies for posting again!

I was hospitalised the other day for asthma. It was discovered yesterday by my gp that I now also have a chest infection. I'm on antibiotics but it's only been a day and steroids too but not feeling any better, if anything I feel worse. Last night my temperature was 37.5 and this morning it's 35.9 / 36 - does this mean it's likely I'm getting better? I feel rotten and cold but getting a cup of tea in me!

Thanks.

A day of antibiotics isn’t enough to see an improvement. Keep warm and rest.

This was me a month ago (fortunately I avoided hospital as I was treated for a chest infection as soon as I saw my GP).

I'd say I started to feel slightly more human towards the end of day 3 of the steroids and antibiotics. I still felt pretty ill for another few days but did improve by the end of the antibiotic week.

Are you using your rescue inhaler a lot?

Hope you feel better soon. Book in for an asthma review as soon as you can, if your asthma resulted in a hospital trip then it isn't being controlled well enough.

It might be that you aren't using your inhalers correctly (either wrong technique or a device that isn't suitable for you) or that you have been over reliant on your reliever and not getting enough of your preventer meds to prevent this attack.
