Sky high faecal calprotectin

My husbands faecal calprotecin level has come back at >6000!!!!

His FIT test was also high at 291!!!!

Has anybody else had similar and what did it turn out to be? He's on the urgent pathway.

Ooh goodness that is high. What symptoms does he have.

My son had frequent bloody stools and a calprotectin of 1200. He has ulcerative colitis.

FIT test will be elevated if bleeding but if calprotectin as high as it is I'd be thinking inflammatory bowel disease rather than malignancy.

Yes, GP did mention IBD. His symptoms are:

• constant constipation

But the reason he went to the doctors he was having:

• blood / mucous stool
• stomach cramps
• feeling of needing to go but couldn't
• fever
