No accident or injury prior to this starting .Began fairly gradually but now have terrible coccyx pain .
Its horrible feels like toothache and has been waking me in the night spreads out to my hips and into my pelvis .
Pain relief not helping .
Had an xray which was clear for arthritis etc .
I am quite fit but currently avoiding all but the gentlest of exercises as I am concerned I could make it worse .
GP says physio waiting list is months and 'no point in referring me' as it will be either better then or just something chronic I have to live with .
I am 56 no other illness .
Anyone had anything similar I am thinking about seeing an osteopath or maybe a private physio

I’m wondering if it’s an age thing, as quite a few women I know seem to be complaining of this. I’ve bought a special cushion for work which seems to help, as sitting on hard chairs aggravates mine.
A woman I know goes to a sports physio/masseuse who has given her exercises for it.

Thanks Dustylee123 -reassuring - I keep thinking it will go away but it is persisting. I have been looking at the cushions too .
Need to find a private therapist I think .
