White dots on face

Any idea what these are, they look kind of like spots, but aren't. Ones been there a few months, the other about a year, without any sign of going by themselves.

Is this the kind of thing I should be getting checked out, or just a normal 'your getting old' type of thing?

They are milia - tiny fat globules under the skin. I'm sure there are better ways of dealing with them but I warm the area with cotton wool dabbed in hot water, break the surface with a sterilised needle, squeeze and they usually pop out. Be careful round the eye though. Dab on antiseptic cream afterwards.

Thank you. I have tried squeezing with no effect, but will give a sterilised needle a go
