Have they done an ECG? Or further tests on your heart? If you report chest pain to NHS they will triage to rule out cardiac arrest.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 15/11/2024 08:41

When you've been to the doctor's and A&E what tests have been carried out?

I had a suspected pulmonary embolism and had a whole battery of tests, blood thinners injected before being sent home on a Friday night then was back in on the Saturday morning for yet more tests. Turned out to be nothing to worry about.

theeyeofdoe · 15/11/2024 08:42

If you’ve seen multiple people who can’t find anything wrong, maybe you’ve just become over sensitive to it.

if you do have mental health problems, they can make inconsequential issues seem more important, so maybe get that sorted.

ArabellaScott · 15/11/2024 09:08

Maybe muscular?

hi nigel i’ve had this pain like i say for 7 months the arm and jaw pain the last 4 months it’s radiating so when i have chest pain i then get random parts of the arm and jaw hurting it’s terrifying.
i have had a ct angiograme lots of ecgs and troponin all come back normal i’m exasuted from not getting to the bottom of it gps don’t seem to know what is it they just said some people get chest pains and we can’t always figure out what it is but they haven’t really checked out anything other than my heart

the thing is i’ve forgotten about it over the months and more symptoms keep appearing so there is something happening just hoping it’s not serious e i don’t have mental health no i’ve never had anything like this in my 33 years doctors can’t always get to the bottom of things just hoping they do soon

This sounds more like stress and anxiety tbh. If your heart has been checked several times then it's either something skeletal and/or affecting muscles other than your heart or a symptom of stress. I say this as someone who was suffering terrible neck pain and migraines. Turned out to be stress. Once the source of stress went away, so did the pain.

Pain raises your blood pressure btw.

You definitely don't need an ECG to rule out cardiac arrest!

OP I have a trapped nerve in my shoulder or neck that my GP is monitoring. Can radiate to jaw, neck, back, chest, arm, fingers etc. Have they ruled this out?

hi thanks for comment i originally thought this as i have been lifting heavy on my left side but i don’t feel anything in my neck if that makes sense i thought maybe i had a trapped nerve in chest or back but a ciro practitioner told me you’d only get jaw pain if you had a trapped nerve in neck as that’s where they alieng not if a trapped nerve was anywhere else if that makes sense so it’s confusing me
what are the symptoms of a trapped nerve for you my symptoms come and go so i don’t know if a trapped nerve symptoms would

OP, this site is really good on various pain conditions, especially muscular ones. All evidence based and referenced:

PainScience.com

What works? What doesn’t? Why? Rational, opinionated reviews of treatment options, and many handy tips. Strong pro-science bias.

It sounds like health anxiety / Panic Disorder.

You'll be surprised how much pain anxiety could cause.

I have 2 dangerous heart conditions. They were quickly picked up via ECG in A&E.

If you've been seen by multiple health care professionals with nothing found, and it sounds like you've been extensively tested, I'd concentrate on some therapy for health anxiety.

I thought I was having a heart attack, similar age to you. Radiating pain. GP called an ambulance after examining me!
Has anyone suggested this to you?

@Lina15 I wasn't tender to touch either. From memory (thankfully no longer suffering) it was on & off for around 18 months.
Radiated to shoulder, neck, around rib cage and I remember feeling breathless with it. At the GPS I was tacky hence the ambulance!
Weirdly an older (F) sibling had the same thing a few years later.
I hope they get to the bottom of it for you 🌸
