I am going to my GP surgery about this tomorrow but am prepared to be fobbed off with information on how to treat said rash rather than any curiosity about its underlying cause so I wondered if there was any MN shared wisdom. I'll try to describe it as best I can.
Only comes on in the evening.
Not a new issue - but has got worse since I had shingles a few months back and/or since I got gallbladder out (I am no longer convinced I had shingles - it was this same rash but in a singles site)
Bright red . There are some hives but mainly of patches of very red skin witha few bumps. Not dry skin, not eczema.
Sometimes in elbows and this can be in lines (but I am sure it isn't scabies from any reading I have done)
Mainly under bra underwire, or around hips and abdomen, and/or on neck.
Intensely itchy, soooooo very itchy. No pustules or scabbing.
Can precede a sleepless night and bad stomach, even vomiting, but not always.
I can't link it to any known allergy although I am allergic to my HRT patch.
Can sometimes get very red itchy palms and soles of feet. This was really bad when I was on holiday last week. That seems to have gone now.
It's not confined to one side. It just starts itching , then I scratch it a bit and then it's bright red. The bra line is the most common place followed by abdomen.
No fever.
It disappears overnight.
Any thoughts at all?
No pics because it's always too dark . It would just look very red.
I know how to treat it - ice, cetririzine, etc. It's what it is that is bothering me.
