Chapped legs

At the moment I’ve got really sore chapped legs, mostly on my thighs but behind my knees and round my ankles too. I’ve been using cetraban cream on them, but they are really sore.

Has anyone got any advice on different creams to use or more ways to prevent it?

I think you need to ask a medical professional.

Oh my goodness, that looks so sore. I’d ask a pharmacist to have a look and advise you. A lot quicker than trying to get in to your gp, and at least if they say you need to see your gp the receptionist will have to book you in, as you’ve been advised by another health care professional, so that can’t really fob you off. Good luck, I hope it clears up soon.

Chapped how? When I hear of chapped skin I think of dried out through cold wind, but presumably that's not what's happened here.

Do you mean you have dry skin? Or chafing? An allergy? Eczema?

What do you mean by chapped? Do you mean chafed?

Yourinmyspot · 12/11/2024 19:39

It seems to be worse when the weather is cold and in winter never happens in summer. The skin that’s affected feels like sandpaper. It’s not chaffing and my legs don’t rub together.

You need to see your GP. I get itchy rashy legs in the winter, I think it's caused by tights, jeans, leggings etc and the change in temp cold to hot and vice versa from indoors to outdoors. Do you drive and have the heat on your legs ?
GP may prescribe Dermol cream or something similar x

Have you spoken to a DR?

That looks more like an allergic reaction than dry skin.

Yourinmyspot · 12/11/2024 21:04

I do go from outside to inside a quite a bit so between hot and cold. This was my legs before my bath tonight. Will speak to a pharmacist first.
