I think you'd be better explaining to the doctor what your symptoms & pain is. Let them suggest what to do.

I had similar and discovered I had arthritis in my knee. I gave up running and now swim, and it's made a huge difference. You need to see your GP.

Common in arthritis and peri menopausal joint pain
The morning thing is normal, does it go completely, or is it just worse then gets better with use but still hurt? Also what happens if you sit for while? ... anything you've observed just tell the GP

I've spoken to the gp and I need an MRI scan. But he had no idea how long the wait for that would be.
Meanwhile it's no better I had to go out yesterday which involved lots of flights of stairs and could barely walk to the bathroom in the night.
Having said that anti inflammatory meds are helping but I'm just staying indoors today.

I have recently taken anti inflammatories daily to keep a constant level. I also take tumeric pills (make sure they have pepper in if you do ) as it's anti inflammatory too, and I'd suggest amending your use of stairs and get lifts where possible. Don't have a hot water bottle or wheat bag? Use the heat to help too whilst you're awaiting your scan - good luck! My first scan took a few months, saw GP in early feb, he referred to rheummy who I saw late feb, and she booked a spinal scan for me, that was the May.
