Is this Scabies…?

Hello,

I noticed some red spots come up on the inside of my thigh the other week on just one leg and then a few days later some more appeared on the outside of my top thigh/bottom and then just now whilst in the bath I’ve noticed the same red spot near my knee on the opposite leg 🙈

attached a few pics - apologies, I’m in the bath as this seemed the easiest way to get an up close pic. My drs surgery reopens Monday so I will send them some pics then too as seem to be slowly progressing as opposed to going away.

At first I thought it could be scabies as someone at work mentioned it was going around when we were talking about viruses going around a few weeks back. I’ve looked it up though as I’ve never had it before so don’t know what to look for to confirm it and apparently it would be really itchy if it was scabies and it’s not. It was a little itchy when the bumps first appeared near my bum but only for like a day and then they just turned into red dots like the ones on my inner thigh which haven’t really been itchy either. I’ve definitely not needed to scratch them anyway so I’m a little stumped as to what it could be?!

I remember feeling quite sick a few days before the first red spots appeared so thought it could be a virus? As I had the same sick feeling last December and then a red rash of raised bumps appeared all over my back but that only lasted a few days and then disappeared. Whereas these spots don’t seem to be going away and are slowly appearing in other places now.

Also worth noting that only me in the family seem to have this atm.

Yes looks like scabies . I've just done a training course and very much looks like it and the area that they go to. You need to get treatment . Boots or pharmacist will sell
The lotion . You need to use it twice. Also you'll need to throughly clean all
Soft furnishings and towels / sheets etc at high temp wash

Your top right photo looks like the burrow marks, like ppl said you can get the lotion from pharmacies.

Thanks for the replies - I’ve since checked with a pharmacist and my GP and both said they don’t think it is scabies and to try a steroid cream and antihistamines to see if that helps clear up whatever is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have you any pets or been anywhere that could be harbouring fleas?

Unforgettablefire · 11/11/2024 18:21

Sorry wasn't finished. Scabies is meant to be ultra itchy, and much itchier at night, and contagious it's strange only you in the family have the spots.
I've had myself round the twist the past week convinced I've got scabies I've only two spots but the itch is waking me up and I'm bleeding with the scratching. Steroid cream is helping.
Hope it clears up for you soon!

@boymama55 I could have written this, I have exactly the same spots as you but they don't itch, I have four, two on my bum and two on my thigh then below my knee something that looks like I cut myself shaving my legs, which I could have done. I have a stinking cold with it it too. Did you find get to the bottom of it? i was worried it was Scabies, I took a Ryan air flight last week and we all know how clean they are!
