Diarrhea and stuffed-up head - what do I have and can I fly tomorrow

In a bit of a panic. Had pizza in a restaurant yesterday, had leftovers of it last night. Woke up today with the runs and stuffed-up feeing head. What do I have?! Supposed to fly to NY tomorrow. No fever, not vomiting. Grateful for any thoughts, guidance. GP would see me but I am not near home. No phone appointment available. Pharmacist said don’t take anything unless I still have runs tomorrow. But could this be anything more serious? TIA.

Not a doctor! As the runs are combined with head congestion, this could be the start of Covid which can have a rapid onset. So I would do a test. But some of the newer variants don’t always test positive. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon but I personally wouldn’t fly with the runs. Do you have travel insurance?

Yes, thanks, have travel insurance.

I’d do a covid test to be on the safe side, but I tend to get symptoms like that any time I have pizza (which is gutting, as I love it😭). Im assuming it’s just that my body can’t cope with that much carb and cheese all in one go.

The other possibility is Norovirus, that can make you feel fluey too, though it’s symptoms are usually pretty extreme, so you’d know about it, and it’s often also associated with nausea and vomiting.

Fingers crossed it was just too much pizza and you are fine tomorrow.

Many thanks @Conqueeftador .

Just did Covid test - negative.

Was very bad luck - the pizza was really good!
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
