Flu or stress?

Under a lot of stress right now, relative diagnosed with cancer, work collapsing, money issues.

I've not been sleeping for about a month. Hot flushes were waking me at 4 or 5, plus upset stomach.

In the past few.days thpugh, things have come to a crescendo, I've been alternately hot and cold, shaking and shivering, feeling totally overwhelmed and weak and exhausted and aching all over. No cough or respiratory symptoms, I just feel utterly awful.

Paracetamol helps a little. Is this flu or could it be stress?

Could be flu brought on by stress as it weakens immune system. I'm sorry you're having such an awful time right now. Please try carve out some time for proper rest, sounds like you really need it.

Thank you! Yes, I'm flat on the sofa and can't really do much so rest is enforced!

I've had that with stress, my body just shut down and forced me to rest. If you can get time off work, properly signed off, that would help. You can't fight on all fronts at once (also hrt? Anxiety comes from menopause too).

Try and eat properly, rest and get fresh air, even just poking you nose out of a window). But think about seeing GP to talk about everything.

Thank you. I've made a GP appointment, although its a couple of weeks til they can see me, and yes, the peri meno anxiety on top.if it all doesn't help.

I can't really eat as nauseous, but trying bits of fruit when I can.

I'm sorry you've had the same. It's crap, especially all.at the same time!

I'm sorry you are feeling rubbish. But don't ignore your body...it's sending out distress signals. Be kind to yourself - there is only so much you can do and you won't be able to do anything if you are really rundown.

Thank you, that's kind.

Both DC now feeling ill, one off school, so I suppose its likely to be a virus of some kind. As well as all the other snash.
