I've been trying propranolol to control arrhythmia (paroxysmal afib) for about a week. I was on a low dose of 10mg 3x per day but it wasn't helping the arrhythmia so tried upping to 15mg and reacted badly. Felt absolutely awful with the low heart rate and lowered blood pressure and felt like I couldn't get enough air. Spoke to gp who said it was OK to stop it as I'd been on it less than a week and it's a low dose. Yesterday was my first day without it for 6 days and of course I immediately got a migraine. Bizzarely the ectopic beats are not as bad now since stopping it.
Problem is I now can't sleep. I'm exhausted from the migraine but my chest feels off, it feels heavy and like I can't get enough air again. When I do almost fall asleep it's like my body forgets to breath and I jump awake. I'm also very off balance (poss vestibular migraine), have tremors, tinnitus, nausea etc. Not much headache since first thing yesterday morning but still have neck pain and head pressure. I've been awake all night. I also have a hiatus hernia and in a bad reflux flare atm, which I'm taking omeprazole for. Also very stressed, what with the recent arrhythmia diagnosis and having bad reactions to beta blockers (initially tried bisoprolol - also awful). Any advice as to how to recover and actually get to sleep? I currently have no medication I can take really. I see a cardiologist tomorrow so I will hopefully get some better info from them regarding the arrhythmia/potential meds etc but I'd really like to be able to go to sleep before then. Any advice?
