Alcohol gives almost instant headache

I'm in my mid 40s and have noticed that alcohol gives me horrendous headaches.
I thought it was just wine but I tried some vodka tonight and it's done the same thing. I'll probably have this headache all day tomorrow now too.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Could it be a perimenopause symptom. Do I have to just stop drinking alcohol completely?

Yes. Happened to me and I know a lot of women who say similar about reaching their 40s.

Not headache but uncontrollable sneezing for me.

I found this happens with wine but for some reason it doesn't happen with champagne.
