Why would a dermatologist request an urgent app

My partner has what appears to be a psoriasis flare up.
GP took a sample on Tuesday and sent to lab for testing.
Dermatology dept at our local Hospital just called and asked for partner to come in first thing tomorrow morning but wouldn't say why or if more tests needed etc.

Anyone any clues why they would want to see someone so urgently? It's a small patch on his arm and couple of patches on his chest but is a much brighter red than usual.

I'm worried but trying not to overthink here!

Understand why you're concerned but maybe they just had a cancellation so booked him in? Better than waiting for weeks/months.

I'm not trying to cause anxiety to you but maybe they are a bit worried about the results so want to carry out more tests to rule out anything serious. It's a good thing really because if there was something wrong at least he's being dealt with quickly so it would be sorted out. Or maybe as pp said, they had a cancellation so have given your DH the appointment so he's seen faster. Hope all goes well and it's nothing to too serious 🤞
