Teeth hurting

I will call up my dentist tomorrow if the pain hasn’t gone by then but last night my top teeth on the left hand side started aching, none along the front just along the side, for no reason it seems. I am a regular at the dentist for checkups ect & teeth are all fine from last check up which was roughly a month ago. I’ve been taking Anadin since last night for the pain as I need some pain relief to take the edge off as it’s making my ears ring, anyway Anadin is wearing off & now I’ve noticed my bottom teeth on the same side are aching??!!
I’ve googled & something called Trigeminal Neuralgia is all I can really see that comes up but it doesn’t feel like that’s what it could be as it’s just constant pain. Anyone else had similar & have any answers? I really don’t fancy a dentist appointment if it’s something that’ll just go away but gosh I’ve never had pain like it.

Do you have a cold? Sometimes blocked sinuses can cause toothache/face pain.

LorettyTen · 29/10/2024 21:38

Do you subconsciously clench your teeth? I had one-sided pain like yours, I was convinced I had a dying tooth or a cracked tooth or an abscess. The dentist checked everything out and suspected I was clenching my teeth. Once I realised, I made sure I relaxed my mouth more and the pain went away.

I had terrible tooth pain on one side of my mouth a few weeks ago. I had no idea what it was. But then within a day or two I got a cold. After the cold went, the tooth pain went too.

I get that on the same side. I think it's allergies/chronic sinusitis. It radiates across my jaw, teeth, nose, eyes, ears and head! Very annoying.

Just to add, you could try an antihistamine in case it's a pollen allergy or something.

I don’t have a cold no, but do suffer with sinus issues! So wonder if it could be something brewing.

I had facial shingles once, it began with a week of excruciating gum pain.

Tooth pain is also a symptom some people get with COVID.
