Men’s UTI and prostate

My DH (64) is on his second dose of antibiotics for a UTI . He is much better but the infection is still present.
The GP mentioned checking his prostate once the infection has gone. DH is now convinced he has prostate cancer .
Has anyone experienced similar?

Get a PSA test done. Any problems even minor should prompt a test particularly at his age. Prostate cancer is very treatable if caught early so no need to panic even if it were that. I think men should be getting routine tests for prostate cancer anyway.

He will have the test once the infection clears…it’s the waiting that is hard
