H pylori is a bug that lives in the stomach and can be associated with stomach ulcers. It is treated with a week of 2 antibiotics and a PPI (lansoprazole or omeprazole)
The faecal cal protection can be elevated because of the H pylori. I would treat the first then repeat the calprotection level.

Raised calprotectin is associated with inflammatory bowel disease like ulcerative colitis and Crohn's but usually much higher in these conditions.

I wouldn't worry about these results as it's treatable.

Did you get the results through the NHS app? This leads to a lot of anxiety when you can't get a medical explanation asap.

I had a positive h pylori test roughly this time last year. I had the double antibiotic protocol treatment for a week. It honestly made me feel rough, especially the metallic taste in my mouth - but I felt a rapid improvement in my gut health. I hadn’t actually realised how much the pylori was affecting me.

i can’t help with the calprotectin levels as mine were fine.

Yes I had it, probably for a long time with no symptoms. I had bloody stools one day and it turned out that a tiny ulcer (caused by H Pylori) had ruptured. Like pp I was given the double antibiotic and PPI (like Nexium) treatment over two weeks. It wasn't pleasant but I've been absolutely fine ever since and can eat more or less what I want.

I was given a colonoscopy and endoscopy prior to treatment, which A. ruled out colon cancer and B. confirmed the ulcer and H Pylori from specimens.

So the bleeding can be from an ulcer, or it can be from polyps in the colon aswell.
