Pelvic Scan

I have had an internal pelvic scan this morning and have left so worried.

the sonographer asked lots of questions about pain which is the reason I was referred.

she had me pushing on my ovaries and once done said the results will be with your GP by Tuesday and to call if they have not called me….. just three working days! I have had a few pelvic scans in the past where they say 7 days for results so this got my mind racing.

I asked if she saw anything concerning and she said ‘not to concerning’ I asked about my ovaries and if I had to be worried about ovarian cancer ( my real concern) and she said ‘ not at the moment’

Am I reading too much into this?! I have convinced myself I have something terrible, I’m 45 and know I’m peri, currently on HRT and I know I have three small fibroids, sonographer also confirmed this.

This weekend is going to be hell 😩

It’s easy to say ‘don’t worry’ but it’s pretty hard not to. I’ve had lots of pelvic ultrasounds and I find them quite unsettling. I hate that the sonographer goes really quiet and I want reassurance- not silence!

My results are usually with my GP incredibly quickly, so maybe they’ve just speeded the process up. It’s an email, after all.

I think they would’ve said nothing at all if there was something worrying, so I’d not be too concerned.
