I would try a physio - I was sceptical but I had terrible neck pain for years and they sorted it in 4 sessions.

They can usually tell what is causing it as well

Have you had a chest xray (given you used to be a smoker)?

CallYourselfAChef · 19/10/2024 18:49

If I were you, I'd be more worried about my lungs..........."i’ve also smoked heavy for the last 17 years".

TwigTheWonderKid · 19/10/2024 18:58

I'd definitely be asking to be sent for a chest x ray given your smoking history.

Have they checked your gallbladder?

SeaToSki · 25/10/2024 22:28

What cardiac tests have you had?

Have you been evaluated for breast lumps and bumps?

Have you had blood work done that includes inflammatory markers?

notnorman · 26/10/2024 10:18

You need to say what cardiac tests you've had.

Petrine · 26/10/2024 10:31

I had the same symptoms as you. It got so bad at one point I went to A&E as I felt that I was having a heart attack. All cardio tests came back clear. This same pain went on and off for many months. Cardiologist assessed me and said there was nothing wrong with my heart.

It turned out to be Costochondritis. I stopped wearing wired bras and my symptoms have gone. I have no idea why the pain should have affected my left side only. If you wear underwired bras it might be worth changing to non wired to see if the same thing happens in your case… I’d be interested to hear how you get on.

I got chest pains like that when I ignored my acid reflux. It just gets worse.

walkingdead893 · 26/10/2024 22:19

Hi,

No I didn’t feel tender to touch but did have pain in my back, my shoulder, my neck and sometimes it went into my jaw. If it had been on the right side of my body I wouldn’t have been alarmed but it was exclusively on the left. I really felt as though I was about to have a heart attack or stroke. Nothing brought the pain on, not exercise, lifting, stress… nothing. Likewise, nothing could relieve it in terms of medication. I was prescribed the spray for under the tongue and told to take aspirin by GP. It was all very strange and worrying.

Have you had a cough lately? I had this when I had a chest infection and was coughing lots. I pulled a muscle, mine was right side but exactly as you describe
