Should I worry that dd2 has just taken a paracetemol out of the packet, tasted it and then put it in the bin?

thats what she just told me she has done

she's 3.1

there is only one tablet missing from the packet

It is in the bin
but its one of those capsules thingies that look like thoses beany toys from years ago

she has sucked till the taste of the powder has come through and then chucked it in the bin

when I fished it out it was still quite full of powder but split so it was coming out

should I do something?

Give NHS Direct a ring.

There is 500mg of paracetamol in a tablet....will google for children's dose...

HereComeTheGirls · 24/04/2008 08:36

I would think that would be fine, since at that age they can take a couple of spoonfuls of Calpol!!

HereComeTheGirls · 24/04/2008 08:38

Dose of paracetamol for 1-5 years is 120-250 mg each dose - I wouldn't worry unless you think she took more than half a tablet!

WanderingTrolley · 24/04/2008 08:38

initial googling suggests that a 3 year old can have up to 250mg per dose.

open another capsule and see if more than half has gone

HereComeTheGirls · 24/04/2008 08:39

Dose found here:

ShowOfHands · 24/04/2008 08:40

Friend's ds did this aged 2.5, except he bit it in half first.

Saw GP who was unconcerned.

HereComeTheGirls · 24/04/2008 08:40

and 2 spoonfuls of Calpol contains 240mg of paracetamol..

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 24/04/2008 08:41

thanks guys
definitelt not more than half a tablet gone

just panicked without thinking

WanderingTrolley · 24/04/2008 08:42

Ah, ignore last question, was just going to get more boring technical.

I imagine she will have a peaceful morning at nursery.

scottishmummy · 24/04/2008 08:52
