Behind the ear smell!

It could have been there my whole life, I don't know. But I have recently discovered a terrible smell behind my ear - if I rub my finger behind my ear and just above my ear into my hairline, the smell is very strong, kind of plasticene-ish, but unpleasant. Is this normal? Maybe I'm only noticing now as I have recently cut my hair washing to twice a week. I've never given a thought to getting into that area for a scrub, my scalp doesn't smell when I don't wash my hair for a few days, so why the intensity of smell in that particular area? Am I just a minger? 😂

I noticed this when I was a kid and, since then, I've always washed behind my ears everytime I shower. No idea why that particular place can get so funky!

Is this why people put perfume behind their ears? It's taken me until this day to work out why! 😅

Sounds like you just need a good soapy wash behind your ears on a daily basis.

Do you dry behind your ears properly? You get a similar smell from belly buttons too as all the flaking skin gets trapped there.

I always cleanse behind my ears when removing my make up as they can get oily if I haven't washed my hair

It is for this exact reason that tortoises have evolved to not have external ears, but just the eardrum on the side of the head.

It could be an established bacteria colony. Just give the area a good wash daily.
