For the last few months I've been having some weird symptoms on the left hand side of my body.
Initially I thought I had carpal tunnel (desk worker); my hand didn't feel quite right and I felt like I had to shake it out every so often. Felt like the back of my hand was wrapped in the thinnest layer of tissue paper. I went to the doctor who did some very basis tests and said it was 'likely' carpal tunnel, do these exercises and try wearing a splint at night.
Literally the day after my appointment my left leg started to feel weird. Again with the tissue paper thing but only on the top side of my foot and into my big toe. I could still feel my foot, it wasn't numb; the sensation was just different, especially when walking and felt like I had water trapped in my foot. I'm not sure if this actually impacted my ability to walk or if I was hyper focusing on it so it felt worse, but I could have sworn the effort to walk with that leg was more than the other side.
I panicked and saw my physio as my mum has very progressed MS and obviously that's the first thing my brain jumped to. He said if I hadn't mentioned MS before the consultation, my symptoms and testing of reflexes etc wouldn't have led him to that conclusion.
Anyway, these symptoms have fluctuated over the last few months (but never really gone away), along with some tingling and cold patches of skin feeling slightly weaker on my left hand side. This morning my foot is worse than ever.
Went back to my doc and the wait list to see neurology is FOURTEEN MONTHS. So before I go private does anyone have any similar experiences / insight into what this might be? Am obviously pooping my pants about MS.
I had my bloods done and my B12 was normal (545) but my iron was low.
