Morning after pill two days before ovulation

I took the morning after pill on the Friday after unprotected sex that morning. However I was due to to ovulate on the Sunday. From Saturday onwards, this is how my ovulation tests looked. Has Ella one delayed my ovulation or not?

There are a couple there that look borderline positive for a LH surge 😬 how far apart did you take the tests?

millyskye3 · 11/10/2024 05:39

I should have written days on them! Some of these are the same day at difference times. This is what I thought too. They obviously darken as they dry but when a few of them were taken they were obviously darker than other but not as dark as the control line. I actually regret taking the MAP and hope I have conceived! 😊

Best of luck whatever the outcome is. I'd say if they weren't darker than the control maybe not, but definitely borderline territory. Maybe if nothing else it's a good thing head clearer to work out what you want? X

How did it work out for you? Have you tested yet? I’m in the same boat , took it on the day of my peak ovulation test. Regret taking it now , however I just panicked at the time . Hoping I have conceived too 😥

I had a faint positive this morning! Although lots of lower left abdominal and back ache for the last few days so getting checked out by early pregnancy. Hope the line gets darker! Do you see it on the second test? X

Yes I can absolutely see it . Both of my previous pregnancies (now 7&3) showed up like this 10dpo so everything crossed for you🤞🏼 I’m only at 3dpo driving myself mad. I have period like cramps in pelvic area and back too since Monday(pos opk & MAP Day) im hoping it’s a good sign that it hasn’t worked 🙏🏻

millyskye3 · 18/10/2024 15:45

Thank you! Same with my other two also! They said it’s too soon but it’s definitely there. I’m just so worried about an eptopic pregnancy! I wondered if it was a side affect of the MAP but surely not after 2 weeks! I also had cramps at 3/4 DPO and I was certain it was implantation. Just want this pain to stop now and hopefully it will all be ok 🥰

That’s exactly what I’m worried about too but didn’t want to say here and cause you unnecessary stress ! Praying my pains are implantation and hope everything works out well for you 🤞🏼

What do we think? It’s darkening! Also I now feel my backache is strain related. I have a 3 and 1 yo so lots of lifting. My HCG level was 15 on Friday so they are going to repeat it today. How are you feeling now, anymore signs?

Definitely looks stronger. 🤞🏼 It keeps getting darker . Hope all symptoms are related 🤞🏼. No other changes with me . Still a dull pelvic ache and in the back also but no other signs. I’m 5/6dpo today I believe . In my heart I think I’m out, I normally have sore boobs at this stage

Macibell · 23/10/2024 12:26

How is everything progressing for you 🤞🏼🙏🏻 Hoping all is well. Driving myself crazy over here 8dpo BFN I know it’s too early but everything crossed🤞🏼

millyskye3 · 23/10/2024 16:31

Yes all good, my HCG levels have been rising well. I have an early scan tomorrow to confirm all is well also. I got my faint BFP at 12DPO so hold out! Fingers crossed for you! X

I think I remember you posting originally and being advised that it doesn’t really work that close and you’d have needed a coil fitted. Seems that was correct!

Macibell · 23/10/2024 17:28

Congratulations so happy for you 😊 il hold on to hope until AF arrives

Redplenty · 23/10/2024 19:24

@millyskye3 Can I ask why you were using ovulation tests if you didn't want to conceive (at that point)? Or did you? So why did you take the morning after pill? Don't feel you have to answer at all, I'm just being a bit nosey I suppose. But very pleased you've got the outcome you wanted!

So I track my cycles naturally to avoid conception. Usually always use condoms however had a slip this time hence why I started tracking with opk, to really keep an eye on fertile days. I Can’t go on birth control as have heart condition and doctors have advised tubal ligation as the only form of contraception that will suit. I’m actually booked in for November to have it done as I thought I was finished with my family , but this past week has opened my eyes and made me realise I don’t think I am ready to commit to something so permanent. Generally I’m very in tune and always ovulate CD19-22, but to my shock ovulated CD11/12 this month which has never happened in all my years tracking . In my moment of panic I took the MAP even against the wishes of my partner but now realise I shouldn’t have and should have let nature take its course . So just holding out in hope now, that maybe if it’s meant to be it’ll be 🤞🏼🙏🏻

This is heart warming. I've said to my partner that I don't want to go on hormonal contraception again for various reasons but if I was to get pregnant (currently use condoms but looking at tracking - we aren't exactly at it like rabbits with two toddlers and little sleep 😂) then I'd struggle with getting rid of a pregnancy.
