Pill bleeding and worry of cervical cancer..

Hi all so I am on the combined pill. I took a 4 day break nearly 2 weeks ago and the past week I am having bleeding between my break everyday? Is this normal.
I am also very worried about cervical cancer as I am having yearly smear tests and I am HPV positive have been for years and always have abnormal cells. Could the bleeding be anything to do with this? I am also having more discharge and quite a different smell to it.
My next smear test is next month I don't know why I feel so anxious

I never usually bleed in between periods could this be due to the 4 day break? I usually have a 7 day break

Have they not treated the abnormal cells that come up from the smear? They don't usually leave it if there are cell changes.

No they said there is a change of cells in my cervix but they were low grade so just need to monitor which is why they do them yearly for myself

I have been on the pill for about 20 years and never had a problem taking multiple packs in a row with no breakthrough bleeding. A few months ago, I started bleeding a week after starting a new pack. Never happened before and I was worried. Doctor said it could be a one off and to wait and see could be stress etc. Anyway pretty sure it was as I’m back to normal now and hasn’t happened since. Hopefully yours is the same.

You might have a cervical ectropion (sometimes called erosion), it’s quite common on the combined pill. Essentially, the thinner cells that line the inside of your cervix grow onto the outside and make the outside more fragile, which can cause bleeding.

It is harmless if that’s what it is, but do go and get checked out as any unusual bleeding should always be investigated.
