Just got MRI results showing T7/T8 intervertebral disc protrusion, waiting to see GP but wondered if anyone else experienced this. Was anything done or do just manage the pain?

Hey I’ve just been diagnosed with the same at L5
I have only had the MRI this afternoon am still in hospital, have been prescribed muscle relaxants and analgesia. Been advised to rest for a week and find a good chiropractor. I can’t even stand up atm so really hope it improves ! Did you get any advice from the GP?

Hi no not really just not to lift anything heavy or do exercise class. Referred to neurology as it's touching spinal cord .

I have this at T5/6. I'm on pregabalin which stops my leg feeling like it's on fire. The consultant said surgery is very risky for thoracic discs. And he told me not to go ice skating, which wasn't overly helpful.

Oh, my consultant also told me not to go anywhere near a chiropractor, which, like ice skating, wasn't something I'd been thinking of.

But, I think surgery is much more of a possibility with lumbar disc issues than with thoracic.
