Hi, im having my coil removed on Thursday and just wondered if it will be as painful having it taken out as it did whe it was put in?

Ive had it for 2 yrs now and it was so painful that i couldnt stand for an hour as my legs turned to jelly (whimp i know)

Is it likely to hurt as much this time round??

Removal for me was MUCH easier than insertion, and very quick too. Take a paracetamol or ibuprofen half hour before if you want to (hell, have a glass of wine and relax first ) but it really isn't anywhere near as bad - easier than a smear in many ways.

I agree with Duck. Definitely not painful on the way out.
