I have an appointment with GP later but just looking to see if anyone had anything similar.

Been unwell for around 2 weeks, general achey body, tiredness, sinus pain and a cough that sounds like a smoke 100 cigs a day and loads of phlegm from nose and throat.

Been taking amoxicillin but they have done nothing. The past couple of days my right side has started to by agony when I take a deep breath, cough or move in a funny direction. Parts hurt to touch. I've been battling through as an important project at work I can't miss but finally had to come home this afternoon. I'm worried sat here now and it hurts to breath in deeply. Shallows breaths are ok. Have an appointment later. Wonder if it could be pneumonia or pleurisy..How would this be diagnosed

Sounds like I was with pleurisy. GP diagnosed by listening (crackles) and chest x-ray. I had blood tests too. Antibiotics and painkillers and lots of rest.

Hope you're feeling better soon Flowers

They will listen to your chest and it depends what they find really. It does sound rather like pleurisy to me, or maybe bronchitis. You've obviously got something anyway, and the antibiotics you are on don't seem to be working.

Have you ever had asthma?

Thank you. Just got back from GP and it's pleurisy. I honestly don't think I've felt this poorly ever. More antibiotics, ibuprofen and paracetamol and hope I feel better soon
