Do you have sciatica?

Dr Google suggests that’s what my deep buttock pain and fiery hamstring is. How do you get comfortable? What helps? And should I consult an actual doctor or give it a few days?

Old hand here. Sciatica caused by herniated discs. Herniations caused loss of function in leg and foot so I have had two operations.

Firstly - try voltaren tablets + extra strong paracetamol (with food) for a few days. Heat packs - of not caused by a traumatic injury.

Gentle stretching - myriad of sciatica stretching programmes on YouTube. No lifting. Check your office chair ergonomics and your shoes - punctured airmaxs are a bugger. Oh and don't sleep in the rock climber position. Best on your back with a pillow under your knees.

If after a week it doesn't start getting better perhaps see a physio.

Google sciatica exercises. Both me and DH have had it and consistent morning exercises works brilliantly combined with Voltarol. Wean yourself off the drugs over two weeks. Also pillow between the knees when sleeping.
