Bowel surgery

Am potentiwally going to have bowel surgery over the next couple of weeks. Is there anything i can do to prepare?

In terns of food prep is low fiber low fodmap best?

If you Google 'Prehabilitation before surgery' there's lots of advice about ensuring you're at optimal fitness for surgery. It's very much an area of interest in healthcare at the moment

The advice is the usual stop smoking don't drink too much alcohol but also to increase your general fitness and eating a high protein but well balanced diet.

I'm sure all will go well if you do end up having surgery

Thanks i already do exercise and eat a balanced diet. It was more whAt can i do between now and my hosp appointment on thursday to prep for the surgery ideally things that wont be wasted uif they say surgery isnt needed.
