Rash from HRT patch, or shingles?

I've had Evorel patches for nearly 3 years now and never had an issue. Today my patch felt pinchy, it's due to be changed tomorrow anyway so thought I'd do it a day early. It was really sore taking it off.

Turns out I have a rash underneath?!

I can't imagine it's not to do with the patch given it's in exactly the same place...BUT it's really weird as have never happened before. I'm wondering if it's shingles?!

Whatever it is - it's sore!!

This is my buttock btw Blush

Any thoughts?

Rash from hrt would be my guess.

Do you always put the patch in the same place? Move it around a bit if you always have it in the same place.

Thanks. Roughly the same place, though I swap sides each time.

Doesn't look like shingles

No, move it around or else it can get sore like you are experiencing.

Thanks. Lesson learned re not moving position enough, I thought swapping sides each time was enough.

It's so sore and stingy!

Try some sudocream on it. That may help.

Yes, i get a rash like that too.
When the patch is on the other side I use an aloe vera hand cream (nivea) on the rashy bit and it seems to heal it really quickly.
I try to put the next patch in a slightly different place and if it gets too bad I put the patch on my thigh.
