Painful scar

Hi all
I had a large mole removed from just below my hair line a few months ago. Unfortunately it became infected and took longer to heal than anticipated. It did eventually heel up when I had a course on antibiotics. It is still early days, the scar is still very red but every now and again I will get a sharp pain in it. Is this normal?

Hi there. I've had a few surgeries on my forehead over the last 2 years to remove basal cell carcinomas. They still cause me some discomfort especially I find after I wash my hair or in cold weather. My surgeon told me there are alot of nerves running along your forehead and hairline and they can take up to 2 years to heal and some never return to normal sensation. I hope yours aren't too painful.

Hi
thank you for the reply and that’s reassuring. I have noticed that above the scar into my hairline I’ve also lost sensation there so that makes sense about the nerves.
