I have never suffered with ear problems. A couple of months ago I had an ear ache that started with a really sharp ear pain, ear felt wet and full inside and sour to touch. It seemed to ease off by the time I saw the dr who said it was an infection but was clearing itself so didn't prescribe anything. The day after I had more sharp ear pain and then it tailed off.

Since then it's happened another 2 or 3 times with a few weeks inbetween each bout. It's always the same ear, I don't have sharp pain but it's slightly pulsing, sore to touch and side of face, feels wet and full.
I don't know if connected but I also always have a swollen tonsil on the same side. I've had this checked by a dr and consultant, both of which said it's fine but neither looks properly as I raised it as part of a meeting about something else and they had a polite Quick Look. Sometimes I have throat pain but not always, I don't currently whilst ear has started again.

By the time I see drs I'm sure it will have gone again and I feel silly going if it's gone but it's painful when it flares and chemist won't prescribe anything. I know no one can say what it is but has anyone had anything similar? Feels it's should be checked even if it's calmed back down by the time I get a drs appointment?
