Sit on a rubber ring/loads of cushions in a circle shape to keep the pressure off. I have been told that rubbing the area with something cold should help. Poor you!

Wrap an ice cube in kitchen roll/toilet paper and push as close to your anus as you can bear. Allow to melt.

Get some anusol, keep it in the fridge and apply a bit after each time you poo or every 4 hours.

The anusol cream and supositry work really well. Can you send someone to 24hr tesco or chemist?

madamez · 22/04/2008 01:12

Definitely a rubber ring to sit on (kids swimming band will do). Or you could sit on a packet of frozen peas (you might want to make it the value ones and not put them back in the freezer afterwards). Anusol or Prep H or whatever do work. And I'm sorry to hear you are suffering, have been there after DS was born, it's not funny at all when it's you it's happening to.
