Urology results

12 weeks ago I had a massive heart attack. I recovered well but in the weeks after I was stented there was blood in my urine regularly but no sign of infection.

My Dr referred me to urology who did a scan and a cystoscopy, she mentioned she thought I might have a kidney stone (I have no symptoms of infection or stones just the blood in urine that has now stopped) so referred me for a cat scan with dye. That was 2 weeks ago.

I just had a phone call asking me to attend an appointment next week to discuss the results! So now, of course I am left worrying about what they may have found?

I assumed that the results would be sent to my doctor and they would let me know if there was anything else I needed to do but this hasn't happened.

Has anyone had experience of being called back to urology to discuss results without having something major wrong?

It’s completely normal practice. Even if there’s nothing on the scan they need to make a plan for what to do with the stent at least.

Sorry I might be being a bit dense here but do you mean the stent in my heart could be related to blood in urine?

Sorry…misinterpreted that there was an urology stent in too - my mistake! Either way, it’d be totally normal for the urologists to review after a scan/cystoscopy etc.
