My GP said that feeling shaky if you don't eat on time is not a sign of diabetes as it indicated LOW blood sugar, and if you were an undiagnosed diabetic you'd have HIGH blood sugar.

You can get a blood sugar test at the chemist nowadays (Lloyds). Are you shedding weight? Are you rushing to the loo (to pee?)? They are also signs of diabetes. Being thirsty could be a million things. Also, if you don't eat regularly, your blood sugar willl drop normally so you will be shaky.

you do worry a lot, don't you?

If you are thirsty today it is unlikely that you have diabetes. If, however, you are consistently thirsty, despite drinking lots, then it is possible.
As to you being shaky when you haven't eaten, this could easily be nothing as well.

You can have a very simple blood test done at Lloyds pharmacies which will probably put your mind at rest.

Hypoglycemia. I get that if I don't eat regularly (shakey hands, dizzy, nausea, feel like I want to cry). Was a problem when I was working shifts because my breaks were all over the place.

Signs of diabetes: Excessive thirst (my GP told me this included having to get up in the night to have a drink) and excessive weeing. Night sweats come into this aswell. It can be perfectly normal to be thirsty, water is lost through sweat etc as well as urine so there are times when you need to drink a bit more.
