Bites on ankles

cleo333 · 24/09/2024 19:52

My partner has lots of bites on his ankles which are driving him mad . We don't think it could be fleas as our cat sadly passed 2 weeks ago and I'm not being bitten or my daughter . Any ideas ?

Could there be fleas of similar in the car?

AnnaMagnani · 24/09/2024 20:04

I'd guess it is fleas and they are biting as they no longer have a cat to feed from.

Fleas can live for months but will only go for humans when their preferred food is not available.

You have hungry fleas as no cat.

Whole house will need spraying with Indorex.

Chocolateteabag · 25/09/2024 07:25

I'd say fleas too - I found that I get bitten and react where DH doesn't - but I suffer more from midge and mossie bites - so I think I'm just more reactive

Indorex, smoke bombs and a tonne of hoovering!

It will be fleas, they live up to 2 years in carpets and soft furnishings. Get some Indorex spray. Sorry about your cat .

Wouldn't you see fleas?

Wouldn't you see fleas?

No, they're stealthy little buggers.

Milkandacookie · 25/09/2024 07:44

Eeek. Only wondering as I have mystery bites and hadnt really considered fleas. (no pets but friends dog comes round occasionally).

AnnaMagnani · 25/09/2024 09:37

You wouldn't see them unless there are millions.

We only saw them when we sprayed and could see the dead ones. They are sneaky - couldn't even see them on a white cat but he is allergic which gave the game away.

Milkandacookie · 25/09/2024 09:47

OMG this is now my new fear. How would anyone know then?? Could we have them from a friends dog...?

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 25/09/2024 09:49

It sounds likely that you may have fleas on the house.
