Really heavy period *** Gross photo warning***

Right I'm 50, still having very regular periods, still ovulating. But each month they get heavier and more clots. I'm on day of my cycle.
I passed all of these clots and soaked through to a pad, all heavy flow tampons between 4.20 and 6pm. The clot down the loo fell out with the tampon still in.

When do I start worrying that I'm bleeding too much? Dh says go up to the hospital but I think I might see what the next hour brings. Photos below

Thanks. I don't feel dizzy or anything. But I've got covid so spent most of the previous two days in bed. I normally feel wiped out at the end of my period.

Peri symptoms? Hmm, I'm rather apathetic to life generally right now, don't feel passionate about anything. Had lots of investigations about two years ago for swelling mostly in hands, face and ankles. Out of breath, muscle pains on very light exercise ( like walking to to car and hanging out washing) saw rheumatologist, neurologist, renal, and allergies clinic and I seem to be OK. Still swollen but I think that's quite stable. I get really angry for a few days before my period. Oh on my hair is falling out. But I have low foliate, iron and vitamin D so I'm sure going bald is due to that.

Please go to the GP get bloods done for anaemia. Fibroids could also be an issue.

I had a couple of years of this during peri

@RareitySparkles I was like this for a couple of years during the peri menopause. I was changing pads, pants and trousers every 30 minutes. I had the coil and my periods stopped altogether. Going by my personal experience that is a normal size clot. Please speak to your doctor if you are worried x

Agree with lots of posters here. Had two "disastrous" periods late 40s before menopause around 50 ish Clots the same as yours, and terrible bleeding (no pain particularly) but could hardly stand up without it pouring out. Dr said it was normal, and sometimes "the body has a good clear out" Got the Mirena coil, and never had them again. Never had any bother with the menopause either other than some night sweats, annoying but manageable. Not sure if it is still up there tbh,

I had periods like that with endometriosis, some months it was like a miscarriage, horrific cramping, passing clots as big as my hand & flooding. I slept on a bath towel & incontinence pad on the bed & had to wear incontinence pull ups as even a maternity pad wouldn't contain the amount I was losing. I had a keyhole hysterectomy, the best thing I ever did, one night in hospital & within a week I was back on the school run.

I had heavy periods and clotting like you describe and it was down to fibroids. I had a myomectomy to have the fibroids removed.
