Loud constant stomach noises

Hi.
Since March my husband as been experiencing very loud stomach noises, at first it was quite funny but now it is starting to annoy and embarrass him.
It's most obvious when we are in bed(close contact and quiet) it's constant before we fall asleep,if I wake for any reason in the night I can still hear his stomach and then again in the morning.
They are LOUD!
It also can be heard throughout the day.
I know everyone's stomach gurgles but imagine it being this way almost all day.
He's been back and forth to the doctors and had blood, and stool samples taken-all OK.
He's been asked to try different things which he has done and nothing makes a difference.
Doctors no idea and referred to gastro but with an 18month waiting list.
It may sound trival but it is both baffling and annoying.(or us both)

Is one of the things he's been asked to try a low-residue diet? If not, might be worth a try. There's lots of 'proper' information on the internet as it's what you do ahead of time for a colonoscopy. Hopefully it would make his gut have to work less hard to digest food.

Was one of the blood tests for coeliac? My OH was recently diagnosed with this and he had no obvious symptoms other than some bloating and a noisy stomach, in fact we were totally shocked he had it, but it's apparently very under diagnosed.

For me this turned out to be IBS

Thanks everyone.
He has been told to try the fodmap diet(so boring and long) and doctor did suggest IBS, which i think is because she hadnt any other ideas(i suffer myself and his symptoms are nothing like mine...but i guess everyone is different)and we will look into a low residue diet also(had a quick look and can definitely make some changes to include that)
Yes tested for everything including celiac.
