Any dentists - possible abscess

Woke up tender under my chin and neck. I feel well and no sore throat/cold etc.
Slightly inflamed gums and one area under tooth has a small white spot - could it be abscess? I have no pain in mouth or tooth. No fever either. Just slight swelling under chin.

Yes it could be an abscess starting. If it swells more then call 111 tomorrow or get in with your normal dentist if it's Monday to Friday.

Im a dentist- that sounds like an abscess- the little white spot will be allowing the infection to drain so I'd encourage lots of hot salty mouthwashes to encourage this and see a dentist as soon as you can. It hopefully won't get anymore painful as has a way to drain.
