Does anyone have a dental bridge?

I'm missing a tooth.. The one next to my canines. I can't have implants due to having had trigeminal neuralgia ( that's how it was removed in error before diagnosis)
I've just lost my third, eyewateringly expensive tiny flexible denture :( so really the only option is a bridge, but I'm scared of having the teeth filed to place it and what if it feels horrible?!
Are they OK? Do they last? I just want a tooth I can't lose?!

My dad has spent so much money at the dentist over the years. His last bridge broke and snapped the teeth either side down to pegs so he now needs them surgically removed.
I have a gap that sounds like yours but I'm too scared to have anything done so I've just left mine.

I’ve had a bridge for years. It’s been fine.

My husband has a bridge, had it now over 10 years, it did fall out, after a hospital admission and operation, where I presume he had tubes into his mouth which made it become loose. As you can see the bridge is 4 teeth around the missing tooth and the teeth alongside it were drilled down to pegs. The dentist managed to fit it again, else it would have cost over £2,000 to replace. DH is very happy with his.

I have had one for over 35 years. During that time it was replaced once. No complaints at all - only difference is managing the flossing with special floss for the gap.

I have one as well. Needed to have a top tooth removed several years ago and as I already had some missing teeth on the other side after a car accident the dentist suggested a bridge. I now have two crowns with a false tooth in the middle of them. Absolutely no problems at all fingers crossed 🤞

Thank you for your replies! I'm feeling a bit less scared about the idea now!

I have a Maryland bridge attached to my canine to replace my upper outer front tooth. I've had it 12 years, only had to have it replaced once when I did something stupid & tried to bite a swizzle lolly.
