Common cold remedies

Looking for your best advice on how to tackle mild common cold symptoms please. i.e. runny nose and sore throat brought on by excessive sneezing.

Over the counter, old wives tales, common sense...any advice except 'wait it out'...

Just interested to see if I'll learn something new.

Honey (local) and lemon twice a day. Keep warm and keep hands and feet toasty.

Lemsip, with a tot of brandy in at night, have a steamy bath, keep warm. Hot Honey and lemon and a bit of fresh ginger sliced in.

Vicks on the soles of your feet - though I've never tried that.

My Polish friend told me to mix vodka with hot water, honey and lemon.

Oh yeah Vicks on your feet is nice too. I like the sensation.

Actifed. I swear by it. It's a decongestant and it's stoped by colds from developing into a cough. I take it as soon as my symptoms start.

My aunt swore by a hot toddy! Or homemade elderflower wine, which was bloody potent!

She was a good egg. Named my daughter after her ❤

Adding Vicks under the socks now...worth a go! Honey and lemon is helping..sans brandy sadly as need to do the school run in an hour.
