I want to phone the hospital ward where DS4 willl be going on Tues but worry that they will think I am being pushy.

He is nearly three but has SN so developmentally he is still like an 18 month old. He is having a hyperspadias repair and both his undescended testicles brought down.

He doesn't cope well with stress, unusual places and obviously pain. He is impossible to comfort in soem situations and has been know to cry for hours, despite my very best efforts.

We are going to Southampton General. I just feel I need to warn them. His notes will show he has SN but I want to explain the way he is a little. I'm hoping for a side room because he will be very disruptive in a ward over night. However, I don't want the nurses to think I'm using it as an excuse to get a side room.

Also, I know they are busy and stressed. I wonder if they will have the time to lsten and even if the ame nurses will be on duty.

Would be interested in your views.

Was thinking about you earlier. Really hope it went ok today, and his stay is going alright on the ward. Give him a cuddle from us!

Hospitals seem to drain every ounce of energy out of you! I'm so glad you're home and he's recovering from his op. x

He has had a good night and is cosy on the sofa with his tractor books and INTG DVD.

The hospital was great, staff very lovely apart from the lady in the room where I waited for DH to come back from taking DS4 for his GA. I sat and cried quietly and she walked in and raised her eyes - nice

The childrens' urology ward was full the only bed available was on the childrens' cancer ward. Absolutley heart rending but my God there are some amazing children and parents there. Put everything into perspective being in there I can tell you.
