Hi everyone , I hope you are all well

I know that nobody can diagnose but im looking to know does anyone know when to see a GP about back pain and what my symptoms could suggest?

I have severe health anxiety and my mind is spiralling. I can deal with the physical pain, it's the mental side of things that make me feel so uneasy (health anxiety)

I started feeling middle left back pain about 4 months ago and I only felt it when laying down on my back I could always subside the pain when changing positions , I feel this most nights.

Yesterday I started a new office job and I had an awful night with back pain I woke up multiple times in pain and this morning I'm so sore! I'm thinking was it the office chair & sitting for 5 hours straight?

I can't really describe the pain it's like a pulling sore of pain??? I feel like I need someone to punch my back , I feel like I need to crack my back & stretch really hard. Anytime I stretch it's painful and doesn't help.

I know that

  • I'm overweight
  • awful posture
  • poor exercise

Don't know if this can be related but I had my first baby a year ago.

But my brain is thinking, cancer or tumour just the worst!!!

I have attached a pic of where the pain is, however the pain is Acc going a little bit higher than the circled.

Anyone had something similar

To be honest, looking at that pic the pain seems to be higher just above the bra strap

If you know you are overweight, have awful posture and poor exercise, then yes that is probably related to your back pain.

I think you just need to see your GP/physio/osteopath and see what they say. They'll probably recommend you move more and give you some stretches and exercises to do.

(I don't mean this to sound callous by the way - I suffer from back pain too - but the fact is that it's usually because of lifestyle and that you need to address how you are sitting and moving - often with help from professionals).

Get in the gym once you've seen the physio and do back strengthening exercises with weights. Helped my back pain which was similar.
